Job Description:
Applications Technologist, Moncure, NC Arclin is currently
seeking talent for an Applications Technologist job at our Moncure,
NC location. Reporting to the Product Development Manager in the
Research and Technology (R&T) department, this position is
responsible for executing tasks and customer trials associated with
the commercialization of innovative chemistry-based products
(resins) to support Arclin’s product development strategy. This
position operates within the parameters of Arclin’s policies and
procedures and will provide product expertise to R&T and Sales.
Responsibilities Support the Wood-Based Composites team in
accomplishing goals Conduct lab experiments and testing of new or
modified products according to industry standard and utilizing
proper statistical tools and established Arclin procedures Write
technical reports, documenting test results, and maintain thorough
and accurate written records of all lab activities and results
Drive cross-functionality between different departments to execute
product scale-up and trials Develop trial plans with customers and
support Business team on trials Maintain clean and safe environment
in compliance with all HSE regulations and lab standards Operate in
a variable environment: Wood shop, office, product development
laboratory, applications laboratory, Arclin chemical manufacturing
sites, Customer trials Work independently and on a team Travel 5%
of the time for customer trials Qualifications Required Bachelors
or Masters in Wood Science from a technical school or college 2-3
years of experience in industrial laboratory environment; MS degree
will substitute for two (2) years of experience. Attention to
detail and ability to follow procedural routines consistently
Skilled with lab instruments, testing equipment, and computers to
conduct experiments Ability to analyze results to draw conclusions
and present findings Ability to work efficiently and communicate
clearly in a cross-functional team. Proficiency in the use of
computer software (MS Office, Statistical analysis, etc.) Strong
problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with
hazardous materials and safely operate powered woodworking
equipment while following Arclin health, safety and environmental
regulations. Preferred Ability to construct schedule and goals to
effectively execute on projects and tasks. Basic understanding of
engineering processes used in resin production. Knowledge of
Particle Board, MDF, and Plywood manufacturing processes.
