POSITION SUMMARY:Provide engineering and management support in a manner that provides a safe and hazard-free work environment, drives continuous improvement, and fosters new process innovation while meeting the business requirements and goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Engineering:* Support process engineering initiatives in both wireway and cable manufacturing to realize improvement opportunities.* Assist in preparation of plant capital program. Justify the need to management for new equipment and methods.* Assist in design, specification, layout, documentation, and installation of equipment to assure compliance with all applicable requirements.* Work in conjunction with R&D for the development of new products.* Collaborate with departments to improve manufacturing processes and customer service, both internal and external.* Develop and implement best practice for organization of process and material flow consistent with LEAN manufacturing and 5S concepts.* Collaborate with QHSE to maintain and/or update the plant safety systems to ensure all associates are trained and in compliance with policies. Within this team concept, work to ensure that all equipment and practices are compliant with OSHA safety regulations.Wireway Management:* Ensure that the department goals are aligned with the business unit:* Review and maintain existing process quality controls and assist in the implementation of additional controls as needed.* Develop and maintain housekeeping and 5s program.* Monitor Material Efficiency goals and implement corrective actions as required.* Development of workforce* Promote open communication.* Train and develop workforce in some analytical techniques to enable advancement opportunities and to drive efficiency.* Maintain head count to ensure On Time Production and Department Efficiency.* Review & approve employee timecards.* Review & approve employee evaluations.* Review & approve disciplinary actions including; mentoring, coaching, write-ups, and termination.The major responsibilities cover the most significant duties but do not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned, the inclusion of which would be in conformity with the normal duties assigned to this job.KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:* Demonstrated leadership ability, including; coaching and mentoring* Demonstrated ability to promote safety and quality in the workplace* Analytical assessment and interpretation of performance data* Team-based Project Management* Ability to set and effectively manage changing priorities* Skilled in SAP, Microsoft Office Tools, CAD and other design tools.* Knowledge of all machinery and equipment functionally and ability to train others to operate* Conflict resolution* Excellent communication skills* B.S. degree in engineering required* 3 to 5 years experience in manufacturing or process engineering required* English: Proficient in reading, writing, and verbal communication* SAP, Microsoft Office tools, CAD* Motivational and innovational leader who assumes responsibilityPrysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities, who will enhance the quality of service and contribute to the Group's success.
