Job Description:

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: * Staffs quality department to full manning and provides supervision and training so that their work is in accordance with efficiency requirements and documented procedures. * Provides training to production staff on quality procedures, protocols, and documentation. * Develops and implements Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement programs to ensure effective ongoing product quality. * Prepares quality system documentation and reviews documents to assure they are accurate, complete and reflect all new changes. * Performs/participates in process, product, quality management system, registration, and supplier audits. This includes planning, preparing, execution, reporting, and following up. * Test, analyze data and issues technical reports of findings. Making conclusions and recommendations to Product Engineering, Process Engineering and Operations. * Works with new product development teams utilizing APQP based management systems to achieve product realization while eliminating or reducing the risk of defects. * Oversees inspection and testing of material, product, and processes taking measurements/metrics and comparing them to standard. * Initiates and drives continuous improvement projects/activities when defects are found or measurements deviate from standards. Applies such tools as Six Sigma and LEAN principles to improve quality related processes. * Leads product reliability qualifications for Change Control and Project Management. * Supports supplier quality development through supplier audits, qualifications, incoming inspection development, and performance measurement. * Designs tests and evaluates new raw materials and supplier products for material approval. * Supports the plant in establishing statistical process controls (SPC) on critical quality characteristics. * Interacts with customers, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies during plant visits and scheduled audits, providing information and documents professionally written. * Coordinates with 3rd party testing labs as necessary. * Investigates field issues and customer returns as necessary, to ensure effective corrective action is taken to prevent reoccurrence. * Continues to improve quality assurance through personal education, new skills, and new technologies Qualifications: Education * BS degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or other applied industrial/science degree. * Six Sigma Certification a plus. * ASQ Certification a plus. Experience: * Minimum or three years of quality or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment * Strong analytical and project management skills * Solid planning, execution, and administrative skills * Supervisory skills * Ability to work with cross functional teams * Ability to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement * Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, RRCA, SPC, Data Analysis * Knowledge of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methodologies, control tools, and standards * Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) * Ability to work with cross functional teams * Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time * Experience with ISO 9001 QMS Management system * Experience handling product certifications to national and international standards * Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Minitab) * SAP experience is a plus * Prysmian Group, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities, who will enhance the quality of service and contribute to the Group's success.
