TITLE: Family Centered Treatment Coordinator (Cumberland County)
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from
an accredited program with a Master’s degree in a human services or
related field and two years of progressive substance abuse and/or
mental health counseling experience, or an equivalent combination
of education and experience. Possession of North Carolina licensure
as one of the following: LPA, LCMHC, LCSW, or equivalent One or
more years supervision experience in mental health services or
social services organization Experience delivering evidence-based
treatment approaches preferred DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE
CLASSIFICATION: Serves as a supervisor for up to nine Family
Centered Treatment Therapists Able to adhere to clinical
application of an evidence-based model Direct, oversee and manage
all aspects of Family Centered Treatment program and ongoing
program components reporting to supervisors related to services,
progress, issues, updates and expectations of FCT program. Coach
and Train supervisees to implement the Family Centered Treatment
model with fidelity. The supervisor will use training tools and
consultation to monitor and strengthen adherence to the model.
Monitor and ensure compliance to contractual benchmarks. Evaluate
and assess fidelity adherence through data collection, record
reviews, and consumer satisfaction overviews. This information will
be used to improve model fidelity. Oversee training and supervision
of Family Centered Treatment personnel and staff development.
Responsible for direct supervision of Family Centered Treatment
Therapist regarding all aspects of job description and development
of enhanced competency to reinforce Best Practice skills. Provide
clinical supervision for associate level therapists to ensure
support and quality of clinical service delivery, as well as
adherence to North Carolina licensure requirements. Attend FCT
administrative meetings as needed for the purpose of disseminating
program information, provide training as related to program
components and assessing compliance with program expectations
related to billable hours, referral completion and timely
completion of clinical assessments, person-centered plan
development and client NCTOPPS episode reports. Maintain weekly
supervision in compliance with FCT standards. These meetings with
Family Centered Treatment Therapist will assess, enhance and
achieve skills related to identified goals developed for and with
the FCT therapist. Manage and oversee supervision of and compliance
with developed guidelines for intern and volunteer positions.
Complete certification requirements for FCT Supervisor and Level 2
certifications. Ensure therapist’s timely completion of required
documentation and authorizations and compliance with Local
Management Entity and Medicaid guidelines. Increase and maintain
FCT referrals and build community awareness of Family Centered
Treatment program by sustaining positive, active contacts with
provider agencies, human services programs, educational
organizations, Department of Social Services, the judicial system
and statewide institutions. Possibility of carrying a small FCT
caseload RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION GUIDELINES: Meets requirements
under 10A NCAC 27G.0104 as a Qualified Professional for Mental
Health. Meet requirements and guidelines for licensed or
provisionally licensed mental health professional. Considerable
knowledge of the practical application of different therapeutic
approaches, group dynamics, crisis intervention, and family
therapy. Considerable knowledge of community resources. Knowledge
of the psycho-social, socioeconomic and behavioral problems and
their treatment. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies which
govern the program. Knowledge of medical terminology, disease
processes and psycho-pharmacology. Skill in establishing rapport
with a client and/or family and applying techniques of assessing
psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with co-workers, supervisors, and members of civic, medical,
social, and religious organizations. Ability to formulate treatment
goals and to record concisely required documentation. Must be able
to physically perform the basic life operational functions of
stooping, reaching, and walking, fingering, grasping, talking,
hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Must be able to perform
sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
and/or a negligible amount of force constantly or frequently to
move objects. Must possess the visual acuity to perform extensive
reading. Must have valid driver’s license and be able to work in
