Job Description:
Builds, tests, and engineers REST APIs. Assists in identifying,
isolating, resolving, and communicating complex problems within
production and nonproduction environments. Uses business knowledge
to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business
solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications
and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends
changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and
strategies to development experts and management. Primary Responsibilities: Designs and develops enterprise scale APIs using Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Model-driven Architecture
(MDA). Contributes to architecture design discussions in defining
application level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and
subsystems for the division. Understand and execute on the business needs from Financial
Planning & Advice/ Wealth Management business. Apply AI/Machine
Learning to enhance Fidelitys advice offering. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and
reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Lead moving API components to AWS/cloud. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications
or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects
across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Help drive full CI/CD/automation for the applications in
Planning and Advice Platform. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for
projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for
multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various
project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical
evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going
development efforts. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of
experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
developing APIs for financial planning or banking applications. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related
field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three
(3) years of experience developing APIs for financial planning or
banking applications. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing and developing enterprise
scale applications, using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and
Model-driven Architecture (MDA); and performing Object-oriented
programming based on Unified Modeling Language (UML) and
Kubernetes. DE designing financial planning and wealth management solutions
-- financial projections using Monte-Carlo algorithms, investment
risk scoring, household financial planning, workplace and retail
managed accounts, and scenario analysis. DE improving financial advice offerings by designing and
applying machine learning and statistical modeling techniques used
to develop and evaluate algorithms applying artificial
intelligence, using IBM Watson, Microsoft Cortana, and
TensorFlow. DE designing and developing end to end AWS Cloud solutions
including, AWS Direct Connect, VPC, and S3; and creating custom
sized VPC, subjects, NAT, EC2 instances, ELB, and security groups
