SummaryThe Director of Academic Affairs will play a pivotal
leadership role in managing and overseeing all aspects of our
academic mission, including but not limited to the department's
residency and fellowship programs, faculty recruitment and
onboarding, faculty development and promotions, marketing and
communications, and coordination with human resources within the
Department of Surgery. Reporting to the Associate Chair for
Administration, this position will work closely with the Chair,
Executive Vice Chairs, and other leaders daily. The successful
candidate will partner with the Executive Vice Chair of Academic
Affairs to ensure the smooth functioning of academic operations and
will collaborate closely with department leadership, faculty,
residents, fellows, and administrative teams to ensure the highest
standards of education, professional development, and operational

* Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* None required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* A minimum of five (5) years of experience in practice operations,
finance and/or clinical operations management.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common
scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal
documents. Ability to effectively present information to top
management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to
perform high level statistical analysis and be able to determine
best sources and metrics for ongoing measurement to validate
improvement. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish
facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an
extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or
diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, direct,
and coach diverse groups.
