What You Will Achieve As part of the Site and Global Security Operations team, you will be responsible for supporting a team that monitors incidents globally and assess information to determine what impact, if any, those incidents may have on the local organization. As a Manager, your breadth of knowledge on internal or external business challenges will help us improve our products, processes and services. Your will guide us to lead projects by meeting objectives and preparing forecasts for resource requirements. Your risk-taking ability will help us advance new concepts and methodologies. You will provide technical guidance and oversight to team members and help in problem solving. The Site Security Manager is responsible to provide effective security/loss prevention programs and maintaining integrity of asset protection for the Rocky Mount site. Responsible for making all major decisions regarding the functioning of the Security Department. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Department and the Security Department budget. Work with appropriate management on site specific issues along with other members of Global Security, local law enforcement agencies, state and federal agencies such as FDA, DEA, DHS, US Customs and employees, as well as Security Department colleagues. Investigate and review all security and controlled drug incidents that occur on the property and keep leadership informed of unusual occurrences. Manage the Site Incident and Emergency Response and Crisis Management planning and execution functions while serving as the Site Crisis Management Coordinator. How You Will Achieve It

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Department. Manage a staff of 18 contract security guards and one Sr. Security Technician through personnel staffing, training, coordination of post orders, security procedures and policies, and guard site monitoring tours. Manage the monitoring of the site life safety system, the installation, programming and operations of the video management system, and the access control system.
  • Communicate with local Management, Global Security, and personnel through monthly meetings and status reports. Establish and maintain a working relationship with local law enforcement. Communicate with state and federal agencies including but not limited to FDA, DOT, DHS, and DEA, when appropriate, and assist with state and federal government inspections when required.
  • Responsible for communication and interaction with federal government agencies. Responsible for maintaining the Chemical Security program in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security and the Controlled Substance Security program with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Ensures both programs meet the US Code of Federal Regulations compliance expectations.
  • Maintain a secure working environment by maintaining equipment, policies, recruiting and selecting personnel, training personnel, handling problems, and analyzing security requirements. Conduct investigations regarding colleague theft, diversion, sabotage, controlled substance losses/variances, burglaries, security policy violations, as well as other activities that would result in a loss of company assets. Participate as required in the resolution of personnel action where security violations are involved, including terminations.
  • Serve as the Site Crisis Management Coordinator and manage all site-wide incident and emergency communications. Manage the Site Incident/Emergency Response and Crisis Management planning and execution functions. Maintain the Site Risk Assessment, Security Plan, Crisis Management Plan, and Emergency Response Plan for the site.
  • Manage department budget of approximately over $1M and review monthly to ensure budget is within limits. Assist in conducting risk management assessments that will help prevent company losses and aid in providing a secure environment, for employees, guests, and assets.
  • Participate in special projects related to Security and Pfizer as needed. Assist in gaining company, state, and government agency approvals for projects involving security requirements. Other duties may be asked by the company of the Site Security Manager which are not security related but will be assumed as part of their responsibility.
  • Responsible for severe weather monitoring and reporting to Site Leadership
  • Coordinate all outbound Finished Goods shipment pickups and associated documentation (approximately 15 tractor trailers daily)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required Qualifications Must-Have
    • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience
    • OR an associates degree with 8 years of experience
    • OR a bachelors with at least 5 years of experience
    • OR Masters Degree with more than 3 years of experience
    • OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
    • Supervisory experience in the area of security or law enforcement
    • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
    • Proficient in oral and written communications, interpersonal, and personal computing skills.
    • Knowledge of electronic security systems including video surveillance and access control.
    • Security and investigative experience required
    • Strong problem-solving skills required to solve security issues that may involve controlled substance variances, diversions of assets, theft, fraud, sabotage, security violations as well as other activities that may result in loss of company assets, and personnel issues
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve site and team goals
    • Ability to resolve personnel staffing, equipment problems, and alarm incidents
    • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
    • Works well with internal and external stakeholders
    • Fosters collaboration and teamwork

      • Experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field is preferred
      • Relevant pharmaceutical experience
