Position Summary: The Director, Project Management will join our Internal Medicine group where you will be adding value through delivering successful client relationships, upholding and working towards a culture of project group excellence. The Role: * Develop full service project plans for portfolio of studies and subsequently lead cross functional study teams in accordance with contractual timelines, client specifications and Good Clinical Practices (GCPs). * Operate at the forefront in this exciting field, supporting projects in the Internal Medicine field * Effectively lead study budgets to ensure financial targets are met through regular review of indirect costs and project resources * Inspire and develop your team through people management; co-ordinate study activities against targets, provide coaching and mentoring to Project Managers * Demonstrate your executive presence, delivering updates on the portfolio to senior management * Building an environment to enable employees, add towards our culture and engage with the group success Description: * Recognize, exemplify and adhere to ICON's values, which center on our commitment to People, Clients and Performance. * As a Manager, the employee is expected to recognize the importance of and create a culture of process Improvement with a focus on streaming our processes adding value to our business. Act as the key client contact tor designated projects and develop successful working relationships with clients to help secure repeat business. * Act as the key client contact for designated projects, and develop successful working relationships with clients to drive increased volume or business * Develop full service project plans for clinical trials or a program or studies and subsequently lead cross-functional study teams in accordance with contractual timelines, client specifications and Good Clinical Practices (GCP's) * Coordinate and manage the activities of individuals, studies and staff in a manner that ensures all timeframes and targets are met and that costs are kept under control. * Effectively manage assigned staff to ensure high performance, continuous development and tow turnover (--- Demonstrate understanding of drug development insuring planning and delivery for a proud (drug asset) through multiple phases of development * Ensure all necessary training is provided to assigned staff to improve their job performance and knowledge. * Identify risks to clinical path for drug development and define ways to mitigate * Manage projects in accordance with the contract * Proactively recognize any changes in scope and collaborate with the relevant to ensure timely completion of change orders * Effectively manage study budgets to ensure financial targets are met through regular review of indirect costs and project resources * Optimize staff utilization recovery * Implement QC procedures and monitor quality metrics to ensure a high quality standard Is maintained throughout assigned projects * Keep senior management and key stakeholders informed of project status in relation to quality, cost and time lines * Lead succession planning and development of study/program key staff * Present a high profile role within the organization always displaying a positive attitude and offering constructive input as required * Actively identify opportunities for process improvement lead or participate in process improvement initiates, as assigned, and promote the sharing of best practice * Provide expert project management and clinical input into new business proposals and Bid Defense meetings, as applicable. * Support/conduct performance appraisals and assign responsibilities as appropriate for direct reports, as appropriate. * Support staff recruitment and retention initiatives as required * Provide coaching/mentoring to Project Managers (PMs) and contribute to department training initiatives, as appropriate. * Other duties as assigned * Travel (approximately 20%) domestic and or international You will need: * A Bachelor's Degree in medicine, science or equivalent experience in the Clinical Research field and you have the therapeutic experience in across a wide array of complex indications. * Minimum of 10 years Project Management experience * A track record of successfully leading large, global cross functional projects; strong domestic and international project management experience * High level of integrity and can inspire to the demands of the highest standards from a professional and ethical perspective * Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed Why join us? * You will be working to accelerate the delivery of new therapies to patients * Ongoing development as a Project Director and the opportunity to progress your career, with the potential to move into other related areas to improve your skill set * You will have creative resources to be successful in delivering results, inspiring others and becoming a trusted partner Benefits of Working in ICON: Our success depends on the quality of our people.
