As a Diesel Service Technician at First Response Rail Service, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. Your expertise in diesel engines and welding, combined with a strong commitment to safety, will be essential in ensuring our fleet and equipment remains in top condition.Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.Conduct welding repairs and fabrications as needed.Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.Replace tires on trucks and trailers.Ability to work on AC Units in vehicles.ASE Brake Certification is a plus.Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed, by having a basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding repair status and recommendations.Conducting field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.Keep work area clean and organized.Anything else that the Operations Manager may ask of youRequirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with diesel engines.At least 1 year of welding experience.Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
