Job Description:

Duties: Participates in the development of a next generation Big Data

warehouse (BDW), through engaging in strategic data initiatives for

enabling the next generation customer analytical platform using big data

and cloud technologies. Provides business solutions by developing

complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Performs design/development of data ingestion and data

transformation for BDW applications.

• Develops data pipelines using Hadoop, NoSQL, In-Memory, and

Distributed search platforms.

• Translates complex functional and technical requirements into

detailed design.

• Participates in requirements gathering and scope estimation

meetings.

• Accountable for ensuring assigned development work is completed

efficiently, meets business requirements, stays within scope is properly

tested, and is delivered on time.

• Responsible for Technical Systems Design (TSD) document delivery

and reviewing all project artifacts including requirements (SRA) and

functional specifications (SDS).

• Conducts advanced performance tuning of Hadoop jobs (Hive, Pig,

Map Reduce, Spark etc.).

• Rapidly prototypes and validates big data applications.

• Designs test plans for big data use cases.

• Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going

development efforts.

• Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in

multiple platforms.

• Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several

divisional initiatives.

• Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

• Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a

project.

• Performs independent and complex technical and functional

analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Computer Networking, Engineering, Information

Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely

related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or

three (3) years or experience in data warehouse development within a

financial services environment; Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or

foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Networking,

Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,

Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in

the job offered or one (1) year of experience in data warehouse

development within a financial services environment. Candidate must also

possess: Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") implementing complex Data

Warehouse Solutions Big Data Technologies (Hadoop) using Hive, Pig,

JAVA, Scoop, and Spark and scripting languages -- Perl and Python; DE

performing application development along the full software development

lifecycle, according to Agile methodologies and CICD (Continuous

Integration Continuous Delivery) frameworks (Agile, Smart Automation)

using automation tools -- GIT Stash, Nexus, Jenkins, uDeploy, and Chef;

DE developing applications for the AWS (Amazon Web Services) Cloud using

EMR, EC2, S3, and RDS services; DE developing web applications using

HTML, JavaScript, JSP, MySQL, and Spring.
