Job Description:
The Chief Financial Officer's (CFO) primary responsibilities
include directing financial planning, reporting and compliance,
risk management, and developing and managing financial strategies
supporting the organization's operations and growth. The CFO will
oversee finance, accounting, IT, and HR functions and be a key
senior leadership team member (SLT).Essential Job Functions, Duties
and Responsibilities:The following statements outline the general

- Assess and evaluate the organization's financial performance
regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Offer insights and recommendations for the organization's
short-term and long-term growth strategies.
- Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to
provide critical financial and operational information.
- Evaluate department budgets and make suggestions for savings
and efficiency.
- Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align
with the company's plan for growth and expansion.
- Select and engage consultants and auditors.
- Manage, develop, mentor, interview, and hire accounting, HR,
and IT staff or consultants for an effective and efficient
team.
- Participate in pivotal decisions relating to strategic
initiatives and operations.
- Implement policies, procedures, and processes as deemed
appropriate.
- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports as
needed, including monthly profit and loss forecasts vs.
budgets.
- Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide
recommendations.
- Develop and maintain monthly and yearly operating budgets.
- Supervise the accounting, HR, and IT consultants to ensure the
proper functioning of all systems, databases, and software.
- Review and ensure the application of appropriate internal
controls, compliance, and financial procedures.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management
reporting data.
- Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual
financial statements.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state,
and federal tax returns.
- Oversee the month-end close process, constantly reviewing
procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems,
processes, tools, and control systems.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage
preparation and support of all external audits or inquiries.
- Take a heads-on lead position in maintaining a comprehensive
job cost system.
- Preparation of year-end tax work papers for the entities and
owners.
- Review and approve 401(k) changes with the President.
- Review employee benefit plan recommendations.
- Manage cash flow planning process and ensure funds
availability.
- Maintain outstanding banking relationships and strategic
alliances with vendors and business partners.
- Utilize models and activity-based analyses to provide financial
insight into the organization's plans and operating budgets.
- Serve as a company representative to banks, financial partners,
surety, and bonding companies.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal
compliance.
- Remain current on audit best practices and state, federal, and
local laws regarding company operations.
- Client and subcontractor contract reviews, prequalification,
and approval.
- Review and approve vendor applications.
- Provide direction and oversight of daily cash management,
approve specific payables, and review and approve check runs to be
executed by the President.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable management and provide guidance
relating to the collection process.Working Conditions:
